              Services We Provide

If you would like to register at Columbia County Cares Food Pantry to
receive regular monthly support, here's what you need to do:
  1. Be a resident of Columbia County GA.  We will need to see 2 proofs
    of residence (driver’s license, bills mailed to this address with your
    name on them.)  No PO Boxes.
  2. If you are on food stamps or if you have children below the age of
    18, you need to go to DFACS - Department of Family and Children
    Services (located at 6853 Columbia Rd across from the Sheriff's
    Office and Detention Center) and get a referral slip.
  3. You will need to show Social Security Cards or Birth Certificates
    for everyone you are registering in your household.  Everyone
    registered to your household must be related to you by blood or
    marriage. (No “boyfriends,” “girlfriends” or live-in partners)
  4. Only one person at a given address may register with us
  5. By law, we cannot register people in nursing homes or agencies
    that provide residents with food.
  6. Official office hours are Tuesday – Thursday 9:30am – 2:00pm.

                 SERVICES THE FOOD PANTRY DOES NOT PROVIDE
  1. CLOTHING – This is not normally available. If you need clothing,
    tell the clerk at DFACS. She will check your form in such a way as
    to allow you to apply for food from us and to receive clothing from
    Helping Hands Thrift Store, 6347 Columbia Rd – across from the
    DFACS office – (706) 541-2849 Call for operating times.
  2. FUNDS FOR PAYING RENT OR UTILITIES – Such help can
    sometimes be obtained from:
